Fila, Rollerblade & Bont Skinsuit Review

Now that I am the proud owner of three different ones, I though I might point out some of the pros and cons of each.

So here they are, in the order I purchased them:

Fila 2006
Fila 2006 Skinsuite
My first skinsuit, very good fit and comfortable fabric. Good moisture wicking. As opposed to the two latter, the zipper in the Fila skinsuit is finished nicely and sewn into the fabric – so there is no danger of chafing an area that really shouldn’t be chafed…
Has a rather large zippered pocked that will hold keys, a cellphone and an energy bar.
Major shortcoming: no bottle pocket! thats the only thing that got me looking for another skinsuit in the first place.

Rollerblade 2006
Rollerblade 2006 SkinsuitBought this one off a friend that got a size too small. Very form fitting, comfortable fabric – vented sides. This suite has more seams than the other two (for the vented sides and the different color seat) – but it didn’t seem to bother me much. Unfinished zipper that may find its way to unpleasant places.
Major feature: Good pockets! a sturdy, centered, bottle pocket that sits high up so as not to bother you when your hands are behind your back. But not so high that it is unreachable while skating. Two side pockets that can easily carry a cellphone/key + energy bar each!

Bont 2006
Bont 2006 Skinsuit
Most comfortable fabric of the three, form fitting. Unfinished zipper that may find its way to unpleasant places. Water bottle pocket to the right, that sits at the same hight as in a cycling jersey. Still not so low as to really bother you from putting your hands behind your back, you might be touching the bottle though. A smaller left pocket that will hold cellphone/keys + energy bar.
This pocket setup has some pros and cons: on the one hand, you have extra easy bottle access, but on the other, if your light on the left pocket, weight distribution is not 100% even. Didn’t notice this so much, especially once you start drinking.
